Q. Who are the members of the workgroup?
A: The workgroup consists of members from the Departments of Administration, Revenue, Natural Resources and Conservation, Public Health and Human Services, Transportation, and Environmental Quality. A listing of the membership may be found at https://most.mt.gov/Workgroup-Members.
Q. Does this evaluation include the potential of moving IT staff into a centralized organization?
A: Yes. The workgroup will evaluate potential benefits of centralizing both services and staff.
Q. If it is recommended to centralize some IT services, could there be a reduction in force?
A: There are no plans for a reduction in force. If the workgroup recommends that services and staff be centralized, the goal would be to utilize the existing knowledge and skills of agency staff, while building an organization to support Executive Branch IT needs in the services identified.
Q. Does this evaluation include remote IT services and staff?
A: Yes. Maintaining regional IT support would be an important part of an ongoing IT service model. We wouldn't anticipate asking staff to relocate as options are considered.
Q. Are the unions aware of this initiative?
A: The unions have been informed and are aware of this workgroup's objectives.
